Ali's glass designs range from functional plates and bowls to art pieces and jewellery. Taking her colour palette from nature and focussing on the contrast and surface patterns found, all of her pieces are created by fusing and kiln-forming glass. Firstly, the design elements are created by hand-cutting sheet glass, adding crushed glass and assembling them, ready for fusing together in the kiln. They are then cold-worked with further cutting and grinding to refine the shape.
