I often mix oil and water-based mediums to create a reaction, most of which is unpredictable and therefore exciting for me as an artist, waiting to see what the work will become, offering some assistance to the blending and layering of the mediums. I like the use of shapes, blocks of colour, textures and gestural mark making. I invite the viewer to determine what the work evokes within them. What feelings they feel, what it looks like to them. In naming my pieces, I actively choose to be ambiguous, allowing the viewer to take their own journey into the work and let it speak to them on a personal level.
