The Art of Finding Freedom
My work is inspired by fellow Australian artists Mychelle Mahar, Tracey Verdugo, and Clair Bremner who teach acrylic painting with free and liberal use of colour and marks and then finding a harmony. My tools of choice are diverse - from rewards cards and dried grasses to paintbrushes, watercolour paint, pastels, and pencils. My paintings are whimsical flowers, birds or landscapes which are bursting with joy and playfulness. I often transform my original paintings into new pieces using digital techniques to overlay landscapes or other images. Digital painting layers over the acrylic original allows greater flexibility to easily expand and reform the work in many directions. The digital works weave stories that immerse viewers in a visual journey. The art is available as originals, fine art prints or as a collection in a book titled "The Art of Finding Freedom."
